Celebrating World Teachers' Day on October 5 every year is a UNESCO initiative devoted to appreciating, assessing and improving the educators of the world.
For 2018, celebrations around the world are centered on the theme: "The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher". In the Philippines, the month-long celebration with the theme: "Gurong Pilipono: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan ko" culminates on October 5.
At Notre Dame University, our celebration of World Teachers Day include several activities organized by the HR Council in coordination with the different offices.
On October 5, 2018, classes from 7:30am-8:30am shall be transferred for the religious activities. We will have a Eucharistic Celebration at the Archbishop Mongeau Chapel (for the Catholics), Thanksgiving Service at the University Gymnasium (for the Muslim) and Praise and Worship at the CEN-AVR (for the Non-Catholic Christians).
A simple, yet meaningful gathering is scheduled on October 5, 2018 at 3:30pm at the Tanghalang Michael Clark. This will be attended by all Faculty Members, Non-teaching personnel, Administrators and some student representatives. Classes will resume at 5:30pm.
